Индекс защиты инвесторов в Молдове составляет 4,7 пункта из 10

Representatives of government authorities, independent experts and representatives of associations working in the area of the financial market discussed, at a recent roundtable meeting, a draft legal initiative compiled by USAID/BIZTAR to modify the legislation concerning the protection of investors.

USAID/BIZTAR said in a press release the necessity of drafting and adopting this legal proposal derives from the assessment of the World Bank's 2010 Doing Business Report, which assigned Moldova a score of 4.7 out of 10 in terms of investors' protection. The proposed amendments can be grouped in three categories.

The first concerns the improvement of the process of informing investors. The second concerns the capacity of shareholders to protect their rights and corporate interests and the possibility to challenge the activities of the authorities that break the law or cause damage to the society. The third category of amendments concerns the improvement of the mechanism of signing deals involving conflicts of interest. The implementation of the new legal proposals is expected to upgrade the protection of investors and enhance the country's image as a safe destination for investment.
