More companies promote corporate social responsibility

The Local Network of the Global Pact launched on November 28, 2006 by 13 companies now brings together 56 companies and nongovernmental organizations.

These entities promote the protection of human rights and the work and environmental standards, guaranteeing the social responsibility of their activities, the head of the network's coordination council Eugen Josan said at the international conference “Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Development”.

The conference was organized on October 30 in cooperation with UNDP-Moldova, the American Chamber of Commerce and Eurasia Foundation. Eugen Josan said that one of the most recent activities of the Local Network of the Global Pact was the launch of the nationwide campaign Go Green, during which the member organizations joined efforts to promote environmental protection. On May 16, about 300 employees of the companies carried out cleaning works in the park in Chisinau's Rascani district.
