The last time the charges were increased in April 2006. Then, the rise was 25%. Serghei Martsinko, the head of Transnistria's Railways, said the increase in charges was an urgent need.
The given decision was made in 2008, but was postponed owing to the crisis. In the first half of this year, Transnistria's Railways sustained losses of 2.3 million rubles (3.3 million lei), Serghei Martsinko said. A new rise of 10-15% was planned for the start of 2010.
