Integrated Customs Tariff to be available starting 1 Jan. 2010

The Integrated Customs Tariff – a database containing the nomenclature of Moldovan goods and measures of economic policies, tariff and non-tariff, applied to each commodity code – will be available starting 1 January 2010.

The database will be compiled by the Customs Service, with the help of other public authorities. “For example, in importing fowl, a company which isn't familiar with the regulations governing this type of product, checks out the Integrated Customs Tariff and sees what kind of licenses or authorizations it needs.

It is therefore to the benefit of the companies, which won't need to know all the legislation, they will just have to access a database on the Customs Service's website”, Customs Service chief Viorel Melnic told a Government's meeting.
